Story-to-Coverage

Something the organization wants said in public is put in front of reporters, analysts and audiences. A run starts when leadership confirms a piece of news and clears it to be said, when somebody judges a story angle worth telling, when a research firm opens an evaluation cycle, when a call for papers or an award opens, when a show or an event is booked, or when an incident that will become public is reported to the escalation channel. The processes here write and issue a release, offer a story to the reporters who cover the subject, put executives in front of an industry analyst and read what that firm later publishes, issue a holding line during a crisis and drive the wording through legal and leadership, get a speaker accepted and rehearsed, file an award entry before its deadline, build a stand at a trade show, fill the room at a field event, and run the annual user conference. Somebody outside the organization decides the outcome of most of these runs, so the middle of one is a series of offers and follow-ups waiting on an answer nobody here controls. The runs stay open long past the day, because the coverage, the judges' decision or the recording arrives weeks later and somebody still owes a report on it.
